The Park place masterplan is centered around a main street right in the heart of the property. It is a district where the design of the outdoor public areas emphasizes great pedestrian friendly environments and well appointed and accessible public spaces that creates a unique open air shopping experience. When completed, this new community will emerge from the last two un-developed parcels along park place’s village district and will be made up of two residential buildings with active at grade uses complimented by new landscape amenity areas and enhanced public spaces - all integrated into the overall master plan. The total residential build-out will be approx. 345,000sf over 3 phases, with an anticipated 475 units planned. Resident parking is planned to be located exclusively below grade over 2-3 levels underground, while resident visitor parking and retail parking will be located at grade. The proposed residential blocks fronting on to the village are deliberately sized in terms of street length and height to be compatible with the existing village’s pedestrian scale and are suitably proportional to the 40m wide village boulevard. This approach is best for maintaining the current village open air experience and walkability while facilitating proper building height transition. Through our continued consultation with city planning staff and the community, our goal for this property is to see it continue to thrive and evolve through taller buildings and higher densities into a true mixed use complete community that will support the future growth and longevity of this very popular lifestyle and regional shopping destination at the south end of Barrie.
