As a major retail destination, Upper Canada Mall capitalizes on its prime location at the intersection of Davis Drive and Yonge Street in Newmarket, Ontario, to draw patrons from the surrounding metropolitan area. PETROFF was retained as the prime consultant for the expansion and alteration of the existing centre. The expansion program added close to 150,000 sq.ft. to create a 950 food court and accommodate 25 high profile fashion retailers including Victoria Secret, Browns, Michael Kors, Apple, Sephora, Lululemon Athletica and Disney. In 2012 Upper Canada Mall was re-branded to include the word Gorgeous which surrounds the logo and speaks to the overall character of the property.

The design theme is organic in style, celebrating nature with grand sweeping curved elements employed in the Food Court floor plan, ceiling and furniture elements. The design focuses on creating a new patron experience which commences at the street presence where dramatic curves and bold colours define the Mall Entrances. The nature inspired theme is carried throughout the design on all scales which includes the vibrant colour palette, natural wood elements. The integration of signage and graphic murals both enhance the patron experience and express a clear brand identity.
