Size: 583,500 sq. ft.

Located within one of Toronto’s most culturally diverse downtown neighbourhoods, Petroff with the Owners of Dufferin Mall property initiated a redevelopment program in celebration of the mall’s 50th anniversary to re-energize, reinvent and refresh the property. PETROFF’s role as prime consultant lead included transformative re-visioning of this downtown retail destination. This included upgraded mall entrances and exterior signage, and renovations to upgrade the existing food court and common areas with new ceilings, lighting, flooring, column treatments and refinished public washrooms. The new design results in a renewed and contemporary shopping centre with a robust street presence and an increased level of pedestrian interaction on the outside, while an emphasis on modern clean lines and use of layered translucent ceiling elements creates a bright and vibrant shopping experience within the food court and mall interior common areas. This budget conscious renovation has transformed Dufferin Mall into a dynamic urban shopping experience that has captured the interests of nearby office crowds and neighbourhood families alike.
