Located at the corner of St. Laurent Boulevard and Russell Road in the Hawthorne Meadows Sheffield Glen neighbourhood in the outer-urban, south end of the City of Ottawa. The proposed intensification development consists of three high-rise (17-storeys) residential buildings. Proposed buildings are oriented on the site in a logical and cohesive way and maintaining generous building separation to both preserve views and create ample outdoor amenities and programmable landscape open spaces instead of existing surface parking. A portion of the southwest corner of the site will be dedicated to the City of Ottawa for Parkland. The proposal seeks to establish key character areas throughout the site and strong well designed edge conditions, as well as maintaining views and visual connection to St. Laurent Blvd. from existing residential buildings. The shifting in the floor plates reduces the overall massing and affords residents to have views towards Downtown Ottawa and the Rideau River in the distance rather than on the immediately abutting residential neighbours. The massing and proportions of the building are in harmony with the existing context, creating an articulated lower and upper tower volume.
