The Steelcase Woodbine Centre is a 30 Acre piece of land owned by Liberty Developments that acts as the gateway into Markham from Toronto. It is located on Woodbine Avenue, just north of Steeles Avenue with incredible access to the 404, 407 & 401 highways. The property is the current home of Liberty developments but they have been exploring how to better utilize this incredible property through a variety of Mixed Use Master Planning exercises.

One scheme that was created for this site involved exploring it becoming a Campus for a large corporation looking to create their new head office for roughly 2000 staff. The final iteration created a living office that puts people first. The office became a study in how to create a workplace that feels like home. This means a landscape that is filled with natural light, multipurpose workspaces, alternative seating, community tables, and collision areas. This means creating spaces that are flexible, dynamic and collaborative. While the individual workspace is important, this building focuses on all of the other spaces that are so often forgotten in the office landscape. The final Campus included a private parking garage with sports facilities on the roof, connection with the onsite Gym, Day Care, and a variety of restaurants all attempting to create a building that becomes iconic, futureproof and one of a kind enticing employees for years to come.

Another scheme that has been extensively explored included creating a Lifestyle Shopping centre with a brand new office tower anchoring the corner. The 15 storey office tower would house Liberty Developments amongst others and act as the gateway beacon announcing the revitalization of the area to match the explosion of retail and housing work happening throughout Markham today.
